About EcoGenesis
A source-based research encyclopedia
EcoGenesis brings together taxonomic identities and linked scientific evidence. Public taxon pages show provider identifiers, taxonomy, source attribution, available evidence and links to research tools.
Start with a name, explore its classification, then follow the available links to genes, proteins and original sources. Coverage varies: a catalogue entry is not necessarily a complete article.
Reading the evidence
Source totals can overlap. A source record count is different from the number of records loaded into a dossier. Missing, partial and unavailable evidence are shown as such. A linked source or an available tool is not proof of a scientific claim.
Descriptions identify their source and language where available. A fallback summary is marked. Location data and images appear only when their publication rights have been checked.
